I don't have specific suggestions but *please* take a look at Professor Steven Strogatz's column in the New York Times: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/category/steven-strogatz/ I'm just out of high school but this is how I wish…

Hi Darin, How are you liking pbwiki? I am trying wetpaint wiki and I am trying to figure out how to use an equation editor. I see that you have been able to embed it in your website. Was it straight forward? Thanks, Bridget

Helping in times of need

Recently our school held a fundraiser for an alumnus who is battling cancer. It was a 3 on 3 basketball tournament where each team had to have one member somehow connected to Anderson High School. Another teacher who has epilepsy annually participates in a 5k run/walk to raise funds for a summer camp for kids with epilepsy. This led me to enter the Cincinnati Heart Mini marathon, a 15K race that is sponsored by the…See More

Very cool idea, Darin. I hope to do this someday with my Statistics students using Moodle. What are the pros and cons of this type of assignment/review/collaboration based on what you've seen so far?

Student work in progress

Two days prior to the quiz, they are to summarize the information by creating practice problems, finding tutorials on the web, finding links to sites they could use to study for the quiz, creating podcasts, screencasts. or even videos of themselves working problems and explaining examples. I am…See More

The problem, as I see it, is the problem you have with any jigsaw activity. The pair that is assigned to a given topic will definitely benefit from the 2 days spent. They will probably learn more about their topic in those 2 days than they'd…

I came to Cincinnati a few Years ago to visit a friend called Stan, who is now deceased.
It is such a beautiful town you live in. I went to the Lookout, and the floating Restaurant and the city tour and had a wonderful time.
