Hello Everyone,

As many of you know, I develop digital resources for the secondary classroom.

Two years ago we developed a transition to 9 program that we called tt9. The resource was centered around literacy activities (short articles, vocabulary building, blogging and journal writing) with each activity centered around issues that students face as they transition to high school (responsibility, time management, meeting new friends etc.).

So I am in my classroom and I have written a long note on the board and a student is not copying the note. I am slightly dismayed at this and say to the kid "hey you need to get this note down." He looks at me, stands up, steps back, takes his cell phone out of his pocket and takes a few pictures of the board. "I got it" he says.

Yup. I got it too.

Tracy & I live in Brantford. We have been here about 8 years. Tracy went back to school about 7 years ago and is now teaching in downtown Hamilton (Grade One). I am a principal of an elementary school on the Hamilton mountain. I taught in Halton fro about 6 years, beofer moving over to Hamilton (It fit with our move to Brantford. We have 3 kids, Liam (16), Caeley (13) & Ann (11), all of whom are doing well. I don't see many people from University, although I talk to Kevin Sylvester once in a while on Facebook. If you are part of Facebook, look me up under Gerrard Sean Malcolmson. Let me hear how you are doing. Its been a while.
