I think classroom 2.0 is the best. Teachertube.com is ok since it's clean, but youtube is better. Just screen the video before you use it.

So, because you can't submit your SAT digitally that means College Board supports cursive? I find that a bit of a stretch. You are not scored on the neatness of your essay unless everything I've read has been incorrect. Grammar and…

Not to beat a dead horse, but if handwriting is outdated, then so are the creators of the new SAT tests. What are the SAT's? The SAT has been defined as "the best independent, standardized measure of a student's college readiness. It…

I have given up on pushing cursive. After all, that won't keep them out of college and many of my students print at warp speed. What I won't compromise on is the need for them to learn to type. As more teachers are requiring their work to…

We've all raised some very good points. Bottom line is, it's about finding the right balance.

Have data to back up your argument. Kids still need to learn to write, because writing assessments are pencil/pen and paper. When they get into the real world, they may be asked to write reports manually, not on a computer. Teach our kids real world…

I have fourth grade right now, but love all grades k-6. I'm new with the technology in the classroom, so this is the first classroom that I have been in a classroom that has a Smartboard. She also has set up a blog for the students, and they record videos and audios onto it. These things I have never seen done before. It is sooo cool and the students love it.

Hi Carol,

With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Hi Carol. Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get California students involved. Please let me know. Thanks!
