Hi Bee - I would also suggest Wikispaces.  Since it's a wiki you can control the settings- only members can edit, lock specific pages... it's very easy!

It might be easier to use a Wiki instead of a blog. We use Wikispaces. (I'm not familiar with Blogger.)

I'll be doing THIS YEAR what you did last year. Like you, my school blocks just about everything- but I've found various sites that I am able to use (Wikipedia, Edmodo, Edublogs). I'm very excited to incorporate Web 2.0 into the…

Use Edmodo or Wikispaces to have students research the lives of soldiers, young children, parents (assign each student a "character" - such as Confederate soldier) then have them write "diary entries" that will give facts about…

the oldest profession in the world...

Yesterday we had a fundraiser for our Lego Robotics team - it was a car wash at a local bank. I donned my shorts, team t-shirt, swim shoes and a visor and got excited about raising enough money for an educational kit and field kit. The kids were eager to hold up their car wash signs and I volunteered to be the adult- to supervise the kids by the busy street. It was fun trying to get people to wave! Then we made a sign that said "Honk if you love Legos". The kids counted the number of honks they…See More

The scales from my eyes are removed...

The past few months of Twittering have been eye opening and quite HUMBLING for me...Please indulge me as I explain... of course it's MY BLOG... so I allow myself this indulgence. :-)I came into teaching as a second career. I had wanted to be a music teacher when I first started college - specifically Orchestra or Choir - since I sing and play the violin. Upon listening to older students discuss how teachers were paid so poorly etc.. I changed my major and finished with a degree in Marketing and…See More

Ready to get started...

One of my twin daughters is now all married... and all the family is gone. So - now I can get started on learning more about blogs, wikis and other such things that I've heard about but have never really used. When I took five of our Odyssey of the Mind teams to World Competition in Ames, Iowa - I "blogged" our trip on Facebook. I took tons of pictures and wrote about the days activities. It was a lot of fun - but parents were forced to sign up with Facebook in order to follow the blog. I would…See More

Excited but overwhelmed...

Posted on June 7, 2009 at 8:03am 0 Comments

A little over a month ago I started to use Twitter. I kept hearing Ellen DeGeneres talking about it - so I thought I would try it out. Being a "Facebooker" I didn't quite understand how Twitter worked. I certainly never thought I would like it better than FB - but boy was I wrong!

Since my tweeting has begun, I have started following teachers and teacher educators that have enlightened me as to how I can use technologies that I've used as a grad student (webinars, distance learning,… Continue

Ok Candace...I have a lot of books to help with Drama, monologues in particular. The problem is that I dont know where to start. I want to do some Shakespeare, preferable start with The Tempest, but I dont think I should do this right off the bat. I want to break the ice and also go through different types of dramas etc., Where should I start?

Thank you very much. I also thought that I "knew everything" boy was I wrong. I started twitter basically out of curiosity and thats how I found classroom2.0 I cannot wait to explore everything..blogs, wikis, rss.....it is all so overwhelming. I really want to incorporate new tools in the classroom. I want to move beyond powerpoint presentations, if you know what I mean. Thanks for adding me and I will follow you as well.........Cheers....One more thing, admin just gave me Drama for this upcoming year. I'm excited but scared to teach something I really dont know anything about. I am currently reading books.....hopefully they will enlighten me...:)
