Sonoma Charter School

I just returned from a reunion of the original founding members of the Sonoma Charter School in Sonoma California of which I am proud to say, I am one of. The Sonoma Charter School was the 9th charter to be granted in California where there are now over 1100 Charter schools. This was a grass roots organization started by a handful of concerned parents more than 16 years ago. In those early charter days, we battled the district, the state and the California Teachers Association for the right to…See More

Five ways Gen Y will change the way you work

Interesting article that touches on something I've been speaking to schools about for several years now. Are we adequately preparing our children for the workforce they will be a part of? If it was bad already, in this economy, it's only going to get worse, so how do we capitalize on the existing technology available to get them ready for the real world.

"Does online Learning Work?"

It's my observation now, after spending nearly 20 years supporting education technology, that there continue to be major hurdles in getting teachers to adopt technology into their curriculum, no matter how one attempts to integrate it. Hi Blaine,

With your work in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.
