I went to the NYSCATE Leadership Summit last week where the New York State Department of Education presented their tech plan.

I told their rep that I heard about the plan through Twitter and asked if they would create and use a Twitter account.

He replied that they would have to consult counsel!

One of the goals of their draft plan is that learners and practitioners use social networks! How are we going to make progress in New York when the leadership is so cautious about using the very platforms they want us to use?

I blogged about it in more detail and would like to see your reactions here or on the blog.
