I am an assistant principal and I am in charge of our school's website. I would like to tap into the expertise of this web community.

I want to redesign my school's website. Here is what I am thinking;
-I want to use RSS feeds extensively
-I want to give teachers & teams the ability to add content immediately. This must be very easy for them to do.
-I want to keep the appearance of the to be as professional as possible and easy to navigate.

Any thoughts or suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated...

My pleasure, we would love to see more schools taking advantage of this great resource. Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Blaine
I have to second Joomla or Drupal both are free and rather easy to use and professional looking. Here is a site I made for my friend's business in Joomla... http://karoumimassage.com/ Also, I designed my old school's website using Plone which is another free option... http://lions.dist57.org/

What's nice about choosing something web based is, that teachers can then make changes off of a browser no software is required.

I have heard good things about School Fusion and Moodle is another nice educational CMS.
