I teach 8th grade social studies in New York State. I am interested in using Web 2.0 technology to give my students more control of their learning - essentially to develop a more student centered classroom.
Welcome aboard, there have been several good discussions here about the teaching of Social Studies. There is one going on now about teaching slavery. My comment is always to use the primary sources that are available online, in my opinion, one of the neatest things about the Internet. It's what brings history to life--I've got a blog you might enjoy on using primary sources in the classroom--A Very Old Place
