Research Project on using Wikis and Interactives to improve English Speaking

Research: Research with Korean University Graduates to improve their English speaking skills using online Journals in the form of wikis, with access and experience with online tools that stimulate motivation and create experiences in using voice, assessing voice, and improving voice.

Classroom Setting and Tools:

A multi-technology Classroom with a Computer, projector and a microphone is necessary.

A laboratory with individual computers is more efficient for hands on experiences, but in the absence of a laboratory, a multi-tech Room introduces the tools to the students who follows up the lesson for homework.

Tools include: class wiki, student page, student online journal and online wiki.

Access and instruction in using Youtube, Voicethread, yackpac, Class chat, Skype, animation, and Animo

Task:
Students attend Class on a weekly basis.
Students are introduced to the wiki and instructed in how to set up a Page to introduce themselves.
Students create their own wiki as an extension to their page, and as a repository for the Class Tasks which have been designed to focus on reading, writing, comprehension and speaking, with a main focus on speaking.

Stage 1:
Midterm exam results give a level of their ability
First Page entries and date of starting their first entry. Level of Interest in computers as teaching English.

I agree with this program. Wikis and interactive software would serve as a very stimulating project to help people learn another language.
