Tomorrow marks a big day for us in terms of our movement towards a more transparent school community: we are broadcasting a student-led conference on the environment live via Ustream and inviting you, your students, and your colleagues to watch us and interact with us through the chat.

Laura Sofen, a 7th grade Language Arts teacher and I sat down about a month ago… Continue

While we are painfully late in getting these out to the teachers, here are

the courses I am offering to our staff this fall. Please let me know of

a few things as you read this:

So you are into technology, now what?

An insane two weeks of connectivity, and I am on the more moderate side

of things, has left me wondering where this is all heading. So many new

tools that shorten the distance between worlds and worldviews have

popped up. Twitter has just blown holes in my ability to disconnect. Now it's even infected my iPhone, keeping glued to the action in any setting (is there a hack to install twitterific on the… Continue

Dear Parker and Audrey,

I have been meaning to write to you about your futures, but the pressure

has not really mounted, being that neither of you can read just yet.

However, the ideas and thoughts I have about your futures are beginning

to overwhelm me at this point, and I felt that I should at least

commence something in the way of a… Continue

I found this while searching Kim Cofino's website

over the break. Most of you in this arena know Kim, and her

ideas and implementation are wonderful. I have been thinking quite a

bit recently about the future of our profession, the types of students

we want to have, and the adults we want entering the world as they

leave our schools.

It is not about the…

Hi Patrick,
I am currently looking for people to teach on the island of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Check out my website for a quick look at my experience at the Moravian School down there. They are anticipating having funding for next year by June but that sometimes doesn't happen so I'm waiting until it know it's there before I move forward. Things move much more slowly down there! If you're interested let me know and I'll keep you posted.
