About Me
I'm a Product Manager for InfoSource Learning where I concentrate on k-12 solutions. I'm continuously working to come up with innovative product ideas, and work with tech coordinators, teachers, and administrators on a daily basis in order to provide the most useful tools for schools.

I'm always looking to learn more about schools' needs and looking for new ideas.

I worked with a very talented team to put together the SimpleAssessment - and many people on Classroom 2.0 were part of the assessment's review committee - so thanks to everyone who volunteered! Thanks to your hard work (and a lot of persuasion) I'm proud to say that the SimpleAssessment is free to all schools, districts, and educational organizations!

Personally, I enjoy tennis, yoga, cycling, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers =)

Free Tech Assesment anyone??

Posted on June 4, 2008 at 8:04am 1 Comment

Hello everyone! I've been trying to convince my boss to let me give away our new product, SimpleAssessment: Student Technology Proficiency, FREE to all districts at NECC. They think I'm crazy. I think it's a great idea.

I'm creating a report to prove to them why I think this idea is so amazing - mostly, they don't think districts would want to participate. I would love to include comments in my report about what actual tech coordinators/curriculum directors think about… Continue

SimpleAssessment - Finally Done!

Posted on April 30, 2008 at 7:44am 0 Comments

PHEW! Finally was able to launch the new product today. Feels great - like the feeling I used to get after final exams and school was wrapping up for the year. Now I can breath...just for a minute though!

My company works with school districts across the country, and they kept asking us to make an easy assessment tool to prove that their students were technologically literate - because the NCLB Act requires this by the time students reach the 8th grade. I formed a committee of about… Continue

Online Photo Sharing for Bulletin Boards

Posted on February 11, 2008 at 2:57pm 0 Comments

As I have mentioned in previous posts, my father has been in education for 35 years (and about to retire!). When I talk to him about using technology in the classroom, he usually doesn't want to be bothered more than PowerPoint presentations. I always talk to him about the new widgets and things that are out...but I never make any ground. Finally, last night I got him to see use out of Online Photo Sharing. Now, at first I wanted him to use it to send his students on a field trip through…

Teacher Tube

Posted on February 4, 2008 at 10:33am 2 Comments

Last week I attended the MECA (Mississippi Educaitonal Computing Association) conference in Jackson. I had an amazing time and got to speak with a lot of educators about using technology in the classroom. To my alarm, no one I spoke to know about Teacher Tube! I explained that it was basically an equivalent to YouTube with educational material perfect for the classroom. Of course, many of the initial reactions were "Oh I'm sure thats blocked too" or from tech coordinators "Well, I know we…

Why I love technology in education...

Posted on January 22, 2008 at 3:05pm 1 Comment

In high school, my teachers never cared about me – they didn’t care about any of us. They didn’t care how well I performed in class. They didn’t care if I was using the best available resources. They didn’t care what I was learning or if I was being challenged. They didn’t care about my success.…

We have no way to assess student technology in our district and need something simple to use- sounds like your product is something we should take a look at.- can you send me a demo copy?
Thanks!

Thanks!! I think somebody called me on it a few weeks ago and I demoed it briefly. They will touch back w/ me in Aug for the beginning of next school year so we can try it out.

Right now we are using Easy Tech (learning.com) and I'm always open to other options if they meet out needs.

Hi Lisa, I responded to your post about your company's resources. I'd like more information. Oh, and BTW, I have a job interview coming up with a school in Orlando to be a Technology Integration Specialist. What's Orlando like? I've only ever been to Disney.

Greetings! I would love to start conversations about how teachers are "staying cool" using technologies that today's students can actually connect with.
