I wanted to know if anyone could help recommend a blog site that may fit what I am looking for. I am in a computer room for the first time this year. I am a high school marketing teacher. I have 5 classes and see 125 kids. Our district has a teacher page that I use to share files and other information. I wanted to use a site that will allow my students to blog. I wanted to use different writing prompts and higher order thinking questions. I also wanted them to be able to comment and interact online with each other. The problem I have is I need to keep track of their posts and comments so I can grade them. Does anyone recommend a way to do this or a site that makes it easy. Thanks

Edublogs.org can, to at least a limited degree, do everything you've mentioned here. You might be better off with a wiki though if you're looking for more interaction.
Thats I am looking at using classpress. It seems pretty easy so far
Our blog is done with Drupal (open source) and it is perfect. The learning curve for the teacher is higher and you have to have it hosted but it is well worth it. Check it out at A Really Different Place. Let me know if you have any questions.
