Hello. My name is Chris Miller and I work in the public school setting. As an educational administrator, I am really passionate about student learning and am interested in Web 2.0. Hopefully by joining this social network I can increase my knowledge regarding technology integration, model it at my building, and improve student achievement incorporating technology at our setting.

Steve, I don't think its a matter of how education will respond to the social networking envirnoment, but rather when will they embrace it and all the Web 2.0 activities that are now available.

Yes, I agree. But there are different forms of "social networking," and while we may use the term in positive ways, I expect there are many who would do otherwise. Sounds like you're convinced, anyway. :)

I do think it's more likely that higher ed will embrace Web 2.0 than K-12, maybe largely because of the legal/liability issues relating to younger students. I'm not yet convinced that K-12 will end up embracing...

Welcome, Lisa! I love the term "geeked up" - that's certainly what Classroom 2.0 has done for me. If you're looking to get REALLY geeky, start using twitter, it'll put you over the geek edge :-)
