The Virtual Field Trip project was started by Stuart Ralston in 2010. It is a collection of 16 student-created videos, quizzes and transcripts, assembled to simulate an actual field trip to Beijing's Forbidden City (Palace Museum), and is completely free. This project transforms the standard virtual field trip by making this experience interactive, available in a 3-D environment, and student-driven. Other teachers are encouraged to use this material, and to create their own virtual field trip projects based on where they live.

I am inspired by your project. As an elementary Technology Specialist who focuses on geography, I am going to figure out how to adapt your ideas for sixth graders!

Thank you, Stuart, for your exciting field trip project.  The best thing I liked was its interactive, student-driven instruction.  I really hope to try this in the future.   If it's not too much to ask, I would love for you to share any other tech-integrated projects you have used for your classes.  Great job, Stuart!
