eLearning has been an important element of the Austrian school system and the education department conducts numerous seminars and trainings for the teachers to achieve this goal. A big barrier in adopting ICT is the conservative nature of the experienced teachers who still believe in the traditional methods of imparting education. They believe that ICT is a sort of vicious cycle that leads the students astray and I also somewhat agree with them.

I disagree with your point of view. Its not mandatory to use ICT with each lesson and make it a total failure and then keep blaming it. In fact a teacher has to think critically  when and how to use ICT and to be very honest, every lesson does not require to be incorporated with ICT. Yes, it remains a big barrier for those who do not justify its fitness for purpose. I give you the example of my daily practice.  I use power point slides in my classroom for exposition and wrap up sessions. I use video stories and songs to make my learners more clear about the story which they have read from their readers. Actually its a great tool which cater for different learning abilities. Some students are good listeners, some are visual learners and some learn through play or writing. So far I got best results whenever I have used any ICT tool in my classroom.

Hi, Zaira I teach kindergarten level. Iwanted to know the benefits of ICT in supporting teaching and learning in Early Years
