Does anyone have a suggestion for a low cost robotic program targeted at elementary age students?  We have used MIndstorm from Lego in the past but the version we are using was developed for Windows 98.

Thank you

I have taught Lego Mindstorms in Middle School and currently have a FTC team for HS students. I guess the biggest question would be, what do you hope to achieve through the robotics? If you are looking for basic principals of programming (which I think is the greatest part of robotics) then Mindstorms is still a great product. If you are looking at just building with motors, then there are probably other products out there. Anything from Kinnex (misspelled, but the product that builds roller coaster type contraptions) or there are some other items that just include a motor to add to things you build. The newer NXT devices fro Lego are more advanced and I found that they have a larger learning curve. For basic programming skills nothing I have found is better than the old Robolab software from Lego. It was adaptive for the age level, so that it worked no matter what age level you were with.
