I have to make a short video as part of an application. I don't even know where to begin. Do I have to use a video camera? Are there apps to "stitch" together still photos into a video? Adding sound?
Would you recommend Windows movie maker? Animoto? Other programs? Thanks for your support.

What kind of video do you have to make?
I did this fairly recently (using still photos, JPG) using an older version of iMovie and iDVD (on Macintosh).
It is easy to use Power point and windows movie maker to create a text and image based presentation. Create the powerpoint, Save the presentation as images. Import all the slide images along with any other images, into windows movie maker - add narration if you want and export as a movie. Upload the finished movie to Blip tv or similar video hosting services. Blip TV has a great learning centre If you are a MAC user iMovie is wonderful.
Hope that is helpful
One *really* easy way would be to get or borrow a "Flip" camera, which also has some simple editing software built in. :)
