Christmas is over and I'm looking forward to a Productive New Year. I try to stay busy, but would like to be part of more conversations regarding the future of youth and mental health services in schools. It seems as if many of the same children that are identified by the school systems also make up the majority of children that we see in our Community Mental Health Services. Our state is also trying to figure out "who" is responsible for serving the growing population of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Families do not have good options for services right now. The State is saying that the schools are responsible until age 18, but what services are available during after school hours? I am also open to ideas and discussion regarding Parent Training.

Wow! There are so many topics in your note that I'm seeing it'll clearly be a rich new year.

While I'm not familiar (at all) with Community Mental Health Services, I do understand that Autism Spectrum Disorders (like Asperger's) is a growing issue in our schools and homes. So glad that you're initiating this discussion and I look forward to learning from you.
