About Me
My name is Miodarg Mishko Desovski people call me Mishko.
I arrived to Australia 25 years ago by choice and since then I made Australia my home .

I have two son Viktor 29 and Manojlo 27 .

I was teaching visual art for more than 20 years.
My educational dream is, one day to open my small independent school for visual art and design & tecnology, with the focus on age group between 6-12 years of age by providing a visual literacy and design and technology literacy in a pralel way.

My strong believe is that education is for all and need to be affordable, it is not an exclusive product for only few.
In that context my philosophical and educational stand is as follows.

A Good teacher

Eduction is ongoing process , metaphorically speaking I would say
” In the beginning it was learning “.

Education starts from the very early age of the human life, and it does not end until the very end .

It takes different shape and form , from the variety of sensory learning experiences all the way throughout the institutional educational journey and life education as such

If we agree that education is two way road , than the teachers and students are learning together in partenership and share the road of learning, the road of exchange ideas, the road of learning experiences , the road of knowledge and wisdom .

It is of primary importance student to learn and teacher to teach literacy and numeracy very well , but education of the young minds goes beyond that primary coal .

Teachers role is to be a professional teacher—educator, as well a human being, who support and encourage learning , who inspire curiosity, who open avenues of possibilities.

Technological progress is a fantastic educational tool, that require a good teacher, who can provide flexibility and balance, and inclusive approach .

To put all this in context, students , parents, principals , school as educational institution, teachers and community at large is about a good teacher.

In suport to my aspiration to be a good teacher i would like to open enother dimension to my debate by the following quotation from an American educator John Dewey.

Qoute
"Since there is no single set of abilities running through human nature, there is no single curiculum which all should undergo.
Rather, the scholl should teach evrithing that anyone is interested in learning."John Dewey

End of qoute

My formal education in visual art is dated from the very early stage in Makedonia comleting my art diploma at the University of Kirl & Metodi Skopje.
My continoues education has been completed in Asutralia at the Univeristy of NSW graduating in Bachelor of Art Eductiona and Master of Art.
My retraining program organised by theDepartment of Education and training (DET) in design and technology at the Wollongong Univeristy is my latest component in my professional development.
My early work history in education is related to runiing my own course in visual art within the number of differnt community center throughout the sydney.
There after a was emplyed by the DET for 5 years as a visual art and design technolgy teacher throughout a number of different public schools in sydney.
Currently I'm emplyed at International Acedemy Amman - Jordan http://www.iaa.edu.jo/ as a design and technology and visual art teacher ,working under IB system of education runing MYP curiculum prasgramme

My personal atributes & interest
I like swimming and in my good days I was able to swim 50 laps within one hour, now days about 25 laps :)))
I like playing table tennis.
Good films are my desire, for that reason I do follow Sydney film festival almost every year . mmm not lately :)))
At my more mature age i try learning how to play guitar ,:)) and I'm still a learner :)))

Hi Mishko,

Thanks for invite. I see we have similar interest, I like tennis but more into lawn tennis ;-). I have just one child (boy) who will be turning 12 soon and he is very much into visual art. I has won art competitions and is currently attending a filmmaking school (saturdays only). Only recently I've noticed that his drawing is becoming quite good.

My focus lately is to find out what is the best way of teaching 6-7 year how to tell time or rather how can I make time-telling more interesting. I am not familiar with using the smartboards and wondered if this may make learning more fun but at the same time I would like it to benefit all children from different learning styles. Any suggestions?
