I teach English in a secondary girls school and have been blogging for nearly two years. My year nine students are blogging at http://jomcleay.com/year9/
Hi Jo,
DT is design & technology, so it incorporates food, textiles, graphics and resistent materials (wood work, metal work and plastics & acrylics). I have to say I am more than a little nervous at the idea of being in a workshop with the students, but I'm sure we will all survive! Those of us who are going to teach on this course have all had a few days training, so we have mastered the basics for ourselves, it will be interesting to see how we manage to pass them on.
I'm very excited about the course - it has been a huge amount of work to set it in place and I have worked lots of this holiday doingit, but I really believe the kids will get so much out of it.
Hi... thanks for viewing our book trailers! :) My students are 7th graders. I am putting together a wiki to organize the unit for book trailers. I've just started it, so there isn't much up yet. But you can see the rubric I used for this project if you're interested at http://booktrailer.pbwiki.com/Rubric-I
I'm in Alice Barr's Tech Class in Yarmouth, Maine. My 7th grade Language Arts students are blogging and we'd like to connect with other students to share our writing. Specifically, we are about to post reviews of short stories the students read and I'm trying to figure out how to get the reviews out there and read (i.e., become useful) to other students and readers. Do you have suggestions?
Thanks Vonnie. There are 3 classes blogging now if you want to go over and have a look. The year 7s are at http://mrsmac2022.learnerblogs.org, the year 11s are at http://year11.learnerblogs.org and the Year 9s you know are at http://jomcleay.com/year9/ Thanks for your comment.
Bergen is lovely - and rainy. I haven't been there, but so I'v heard. It's a shame not to have been there. I was planning to go this summer, camping with my daughter, but it was to much rain. You've probably heard about it :O)
Hi Jo: I look forward to learning more about your work. Australia has a reputation for some of the best media education in the world. In the U.S., we know scholars like Robyn Quin and Barry McMahon from Perth. I look forward to hearing about others who are doing work in this area. I was in Brisbane for the ATOM conference last year. Great conference and really innovative ideas about digital multiliteracies in the classroom. http://www.waikato.ac.nz/film/NAME/script/files/SCRIPT65.pdf
Hi Jo. I teach Year 4 in Perth and am just new to blogging. Had a quick look at your students blogs. Hopefuuly I can get my students to do something like that. Do you know any primary teachers on Classroom 2.0 from Aus?
