"I co-sign Camstudio...it's basic, but i found easy to use. The voice over option is great to use audio to talk viewers through what is happening."

"Thanks Mr. B!  I thought you still had to have a licensed version of Camtasia on a server in order to use Jing?"

Alternative Screen Capture and Graphics Apps

Does anyone have an alternative application for screen captures other than SnagIT?  SnagIT is great but I was hoping to find something comparable that is free and opensource.  I have tried Screenpresso which is not too bad but when I try and resize the images they do not retain quality very well. I have also used paint.net as a graphics editor which is very nice and I recommend it for that but it does not do any screen capture or region capture. While on the topic, does there even exist an…See More

Hi Stephen,

I'm a recent college graduate and have been working on a collaborative microblogging website with some friends. We have a vision to simplify the tools teachers and students use to communicate and collaborate. We want to make it easy for the teachers to engage students in class discussions and also make it easy for students to contact the teacher and other classmates if they have any questions while working on assignments and projects. We also want to facilitate team work for groups of students working together on blogging projects, pen-pal projects and other research projects.

Can we connect here on Classroom 2.0 or on Twitter?

Hi Stephen,

I'm curious what kind of consulting do you do?
