Has anyone tried live streaming their lessons or classes?

I'm thinking of doing a live stream once a week in my classes (say, on a Monday) as segway into what the week will offer as a means of extra communication to parents and for students who are absent. Any ideas or things you know of that I should be concerend about?

About Me
I am a middle school language arts teacher, currently working on my Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction. Education is my true calling, but if I weren't teaching, I'd sing, decorate, or write for a living. I am a mother and an identical twin, and I'm in love with life!

Hi Shenee,

With your interest in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.

Hi Shenee,
I noticed that you left a post on the chat line about how to integrate cell phones in the classroom. We use them almost every day in mine. I also am in the process of conducting several workshops around the country in order to help teachers learn how to utilize cell phones as an instructional tool. Let me know if you need some ideas. Hope all is well.
Best,
Joe
