"Yes!  A good way to get students actively involved in their learning; this way it puts some of the responsibility on them and takes some of the pressure off of you.             "

"The activity that I implemented was a modified jigsaw reading activity.  Since the students already sit in group of 3-4, I took a Mayan legend and divided it giving a small paragraph/section to each group for them to read on their own/with some…"

"These last two weeks, I've been able to use a modified jigsaw activity about three times, one time for learning the imperfect and twice for readings in Spanish, so I'd like to talk about that in my next blog entry."

"Katie, I really enjoyed your lesson.  To be quite frank, I was quite surprised at how well your students behaved and how much they participated.  What really impressed me was how much Spanish you were using in the classroom, AND how much…"

"I'm converting my video right now, so I'll attach it later.   I don't want to be too negative about my teaching sample, but I have to be honest: you can tell that I'm a teacher-in-training; my teaching style shows…"

About Me
Well, for starters, I'm really passionate about education; someday I hope to work in curriculum studies or get involved in school leadership. I don't know, I just have this silly dream of changing the world, and where else better to start, right?
I consider myself to be really lucky to be able to here surrounded by such wonderful friends--just genuine good people, good human beings. That seems like such a rare occurance, or maybe that's just me. Regardless it's something I want to hold onto and protect--And let me tell you, I am a fierce friend. It may not seem like it, but that's just because I get shy at times, and I don't know how to act the best in social situations. But even so, if you can get past all that and discover me truly, you will have made yourself a friend for life.
