Hi Paul. I was wondering if you and your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

There are a lot of resources that I would like to incorporate such as podcasts, blogs, and e-portfolios, but until we get more resources in our school, it is quite difficult.

We also have a hard time getting technological resources. We have 4 computer labs, but often they fill up pretty quickly. Our department has been purchasing overhead projectors from our budget and currently we will be up to 5 next year. We will need another 4 for all teachers in the history dept to have them. Pius is currently trying to go wireless but we are running into snags. Also we are working on trying to start a one-on-one laptop initative where incoming freshman in 2009 will receive a laptop with their tuition. However the cost is something we are trying to overcome. Not having more technology makes it really difficult to incorporate as much technology as I would like to into my classroom, so I am hoping that we are able to go wireless and get the laptops for students. Being private we also run into problems with funding, as we are not elibible for a lot of state funding.
