Hey Mrs. Blue,

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!

That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.

Do you mind passing my message along to students and your colleagues again?

Thanks,
Jack

Thanks for getting back to me, Mrs. Blue! Yeah, the site was down for a bit. Without getting into too many details, we have this neat 'sentence generator' that grabs sentences with our vocab words that appear in literary references, and it was pulling too much! Anyways, for more details about the contest, you can go here http://www.brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules . Let me know if you have any outstanding questions

Hi Mrs. Blue!

Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from Michigan!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Carolyn, I lead the Tutor/Mentor Connection in Chicago. I was a speaker at the 2007 Computer Clubhouse conference held in Evanston. I encourage you to read the articles on my blog and consider ways students in Computer Clubhouse locations could take on a similar role of building visibility and drawing resources to themselves, and other youth organizations, in their own communities.

I host a conference every May and November in Chicago and hope you and other Clubhouse leaders will participate.
