- Lucy was nationally recognized for SWAT (Students Working To Advance Technology) project of which Technology and Learning Magazine and Microsoft named her the 1997 National Technology Teacher of the Year for founding this concept. The SWAT Program provides a structured environment for students to develop Digital Literacy skills. She continues to provide mentoring support to the National SWAT Outreach and SWAT Leadership Teams.
