Thanks Mark. I checked out WizIQ. I could have used that when I was teaching! It seems to be aimed to teachers. What I'm mainly interested in are services that let kids make blogs, wikis, and personal websites (ala MySpace, Facebook) in a…

This group is intended for people who provide technology PD to teachers. I think there are a lot of resources and ideas about best practice that we can share.

About Me
I'm a former teacher. I worked at Tom Snyder Productions for 16 years in professional development and product development. Some of the products I worked on include Timeliner XE, Thinking Reader, Decisions, Decisions: Current Events, and Neighborhood MapMachine.
I just started an edtech consulting business to help schools make the most of web 2.0 tools as well as other free web tools such as Google Apps, Google Earth, Scratch etc.

I'm also volunteering one day a week at my daughter's elementary school to help the teachers with technology.

Hi Hecrick.
I've used OurClassSpace.com.
There's a fee, but it's secure, so well worth it.

Hi Hedrick,

A couple of "safe" Web 2.0 tool I recommend you take a look at are Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.
