David Huston replied to Mitzi Macaluso's discussion 'Creating a 2.0 Social Studies Classroom'
I am using it with 11th graders in US History. I would try it with 10th graders, but not with 9th or lower. You're right about everyone getting done on time. The students work a week ahead. I present every other chapter--giving them time to…

David Huston replied to Ojas Ray's discussion 'Quiz / Test Maker'
One of the best online quiz makers is ClassMarker: http://www.classmarker.com/ They have a limited free service, but the Pro model for teachers, with all their features is just $25/year. Well worth it if you plan to use it quite a bit. Very…

Hi David
My name’s David and I’m a history teacher in Queensland, Australia. I use a lot of podcasting and online tools with my classes and am always looking for new ideas. We also use moodle at our school.
I host a group on diigo (it’s similar to delicious and very popular with teachers) for history teachers to share links, ideas and resources. It’s at http://groups.diigo.com/groups/history-teachers.
Please come along and join and share any sources or resources you use with the rest of us. See you there.
Regards,

Hi David,

With your interest in Ed Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Hi David!

Happy New Year! I was wondering if you or your students would be interested in participating in a nationwide SAT Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. If not, perhaps you have some educator contacts you could direct me to. We'd really like to get more students involved from Ohio!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi David,
SITACT Inc has developed the Moodle Analytics module for dashboard style graphical reporting to track the progress of the online classes. Have a look at the demo at www.sitact.net.
