I agree with you about Moodle and my students did as well. They found the environment of Edu 2.0 preferable. I think there is a basic difference in pedagogical model. Thanks for the lead. JP

Graham, Thanks for letting us know. I was in no way making a reference to edu20 - also glad to hear that you make a clear divide between "our future" and "your future" which is how I see the line between education (of youth)…

Hi David, Studeous was built by a couple of college kids. Edu 2.0, on the other hand, was funded by myself who is a successful serial software entrepreneur who wants to give back something to the world of education. If you like, you can research my…

Hi, Lots of great comments about things. Thanks for your information, thanks to all! One thing I don't like about a lot of these sites is their "pull and push" factor. Meaning, they pull people in and then WHAM! change the business…

Bill, As it turned out, I should have checked out the sustainability of Studeous more closely. One bright morning this past spring, they shut down the teacher accounts. We moved over to Edu 2.0 for the last months of the class and intend to use it…

Hi Daniel, Thanks for the mention! Are there additional features we could add to our wiki functionality that would make you want to use it instead of wikispaces? Also, it would be nice if you could update your case study, since we've already…

Dan, thanks for checking out Yacapaca. I notice you have not assigned any Yacapaca assessments to your students. When you see how enthused a class of kids can get when a quiz is presented in Yacapaca format, I am confident you will change your mind…

Hey- jumping in on your older conversation, but I have used both wikispaces and edu20 all year long. They really are two different yet similar beasts, but they are both some of my favorite tools. Edu20 is more all it one, and although it does have…

Hi Toby, This is getting a little off thread topic, but my comments were not directed specifically at Moodle or any other LMS, rather the technology decision-making process that might lead us to choose Moodle. Maybe it's the best, maybe…

Maybe this isn't the appropriate thread for these questions, but with the dissolution of Studeous, has anyone out there done a true comparative analysis of the other LMS/CMS type programs out there? Without divulging too much information, the…

It lies in the combination of the two. This is a simple matter of efficiency; having two different assessments to serve the needs of teachers and pupils cuts down the time you can spend on anything else. Formative feedback is something I promote…
