- I have taken a different path than most in the educational field. My career started as a teacher at Waupun Correctional. I was the second teacher hired after the prison riot there, where the school was burned and 6 teachers held hostage. I taught 13.4 yrs in WI's Dept of Corrections. From there I moved to Minnesota and started an Alternative school with 4 other teachers. I work in two other at risk schools there. Came back to WI. 5 yrs with at-risk students and now another 5 yrs on the LdF Ojibwe Indian Reservation
