"What a great lesson!  I've not heard of the Edmondo version of Flat Stanley but it sounds great.  I think my kindergarten students would really be motivated by this activity to learn about different cultures and make connections with…"

Ariel Conlon replied to Meghan Roop's discussion Global Awareness lesson in the group EDT6035
"Meghan, Great lesson! I love the "life cycle" idea.  Learning about different cultures as a child is so eye-opening because they are so focused on themselves.  Letting them choose their own culture to research, study and present…"

"I do not think a one-to one program at my school will happen anytime soon.  We were just told there will be a 30-40% building budget cut next year and no new programs will happen.  At this point, we will be lucky if we have enough…"

Ariel Conlon replied to Greg Gorman's discussion Assessments in Kindergarten
"I am a Kindergarten teacher in my 11th year at this grade level. You are correct when you say the one-on-one checking of letters, sounds, sight words, numbers, etc. is a very tedious and cumbersome process, especially in the beginning of the school…"

Ariel Conlon replied to Ashley Rawls's discussion Are we pushing technology too much?
"In order for today's students to be prepared for tomorrow's workplace, they must be tech savvy or they will not succeed.   I really think the writing is on the wall as far as the world moving forward in this way.  Instead of…"
