School / Work Affiliation: Richland County (SC) District 1, 4th/5th grade teacher

About Me: I am a public school Montessori teacher for Upper Elementary (4th/5th grade) students in Columbia, SC. We work very hard to ensure all our children receive the benefits of a quality Montessori education and meet the SC educational standards for their respective grade levels as well.

I have been involved with the Montessori model in a variety of public and private settings, including seven years as a teaching administrator, and two years as the curriculum planner for an inner city public school Montessori magnet program. I hold valid state teaching certificates in NC and SC, a M.A. in Education, and Montessori certification for 3 - 12-year-olds (AMI, AMS).

Education is an active, ongoing process of discovery. As a Montessori teacher, I feel honored to support the self-directed learning of my students and be a guide and companion to them along the way.

I love technology and I love making opportunities available to my kids to use technology creatively and effectively.
