Planning for Tech in Canada

I teach a online graduate class in the US where one of the assignments is to analyze the district technology plan. One of my students is from Canada and she doesn't think they have technology plans. Does anyone know if there is any equivalent document to our district technology plans that she can use? I'd like the assignment to be meaningful for her. Thanks in advance

Hi Fran, I was able to find out about those projects through Twitter and another Ning I belong to called Elementary Tech Teachers. We had so much fun and learned so much. I'm looking foward to becoming more involved with projects this year.

Hi Sam, I teach K-4 computers in South Plainfield, NJ. Usually, the first day of school I take pictures of the students from the moment they arrive at school. So this sounds like a great project to start the year off with. Also, I've used…

Yes, that would be, I have been thinking about a story where it goes back and forth between classes to develop. What types of things are you thinking about? Can you use Skype in school?

Hey Annemarie,

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!

That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.

Do you mind passing my message along to students and your HS colleagues again?

Thanks,
Jack

Hi Annemarie,

With your work in Education Technology, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service.

Hi Annemarie!

Happy New Year! I was wondering if you have any 2ndary education contacts who would be interested in participating in a nationwide Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from NJ!

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!

I am from Ghana and I'm just here to learn, contribute as well as link up with like-minded people who will be willing to share their experiences as well as help in spreading the concept of distance learning and adult education to Africa, which lags behind as far as education is concerned. hope to find a friend in you.
