Need a little touch of the bright side in these difficult times? Here are some things I'm finding that are positive about the budget cuts. Not denying the negative, I'm just saying.

1. People are a lot more open to VoIP, Skype, Elluminate, etc., now that they can't travel.
2. Distance learning is slowly becoming an acceptable option in adult ed (I mean online instruction)
3. With less money for software, Google docs and the like are looking better and better.

I don't mean to be a Pollyanna, I'm just noticing that people are receptive to things that they weren't interested in before because what they had was working fine. So maybe we will come out of this budget mess (in California anyway) stronger, leaner and smarter.
