I've been using Second Life for a few months now learning now it can be used in a k12 setting. I'd be interested in your comments.

To use a Secondlife like environment for students under 13 you have the Opensim option - we run an opensim server for our students called Greenbush Grid (http://grid.greenbush.us). We have an alternate energy piece and are currently building a CSI lab where students will collaboratively solve cases.

More details are here: http://grid.greenbush.us

Hey John,

We at MUVErs are looking into Second Life options and have some novel notions we plan to run by the Lindens. Stay tuned at MUVErs.org

.... It may also be worth mentioning Aaron Walsh's EducationGrid project has been having similar discussions with the Lindens (Pathfinder, Claudia etc.) ... Its very preliminary ... but could be interesting at some point in the future regarding a Linden Labs environment for the little ones.
