After taking the MII, I was very surprised at the results. According to the numbers, my styles (listed from highest to lowest) were Interpersonal, Body/Kinesthetic, Naturalistic, tied were Visual/Spatial and Music, Mathematics, and tied at the end were Linguistic and Intrapersonal. Never before has my highest score been interpersonal. I am not the kind of person that is very talkative or has lots of friends. The only reason that I could see this being true is because I do like to work in groups and I like to get other peoples' opinions about things. Also, I am the type of person that tries to be organized with everything. If I didn't take the test, I would have guessed my higher answers to be either intrapersonal, mathematics, or visual/spatial. I feel that these would represent me better because I would rather think and work things out in my head rather than sharing them, math is one of my better subjects and I like how there can be concrete formulas for figuring out answers, and because I do learn by picturing things in my mind and seeing things physically worked out. I think that this test just opened my eyes and showed me that maybe I am a little more Interpersonal than I think.

After being shocked with the MII results, I felt better and thought that the results of the PLSI hit me right on target. On the PLSI, my learning style was considered to be ISFJ. According to the learning style description page, ISFJ is someone who is "quiet friendly, responsible, and conscientious. Work devotedly to meet their obligations. Lend stability to any project or group. Thorough, painstaking, accurate. Their interests are usually not technical. Can be patient with necessary details. Loyal, considerate, perceptive, concerned with how other people feel." I think this explains me better than the MII because everything in the description is true about me. I am more of a quiet friendly person. I am responsible, at least I think I am. I love and have to be very accurate and detailed with all of my work. I do care about other people and how they feel. The PLSI basically explained everyday of my life and how things go.

I enjoyed taking both of these tests and feel like through them I was able to learn a little bit more about myself and support what I already thought about myself. I think it is good for people to learn about themselves in these ways because it really can help them better understand why they do what they do.

I'm glad you enjoyed taking them - while it was homework - sometimes it's nice to stop for a second and look in the 'brain' mirror and see what's going on up there - and step back and see what you see. Mirrors are for reflecting. These Inventories - I hope have helped you reflect on who you are as a person - as a teacher and as a student. I appreciate your thoughtfulness to this assignment.
