I entered the Library Science program at Sam Houston State University in the Summer I semester. I am one-third of the way finished with the program. This is my sixth year teaching, and I currently teach 4th grade. My favorite subject to teach is writing. I love teaching kids how to make their writing more interesting.

I am married and have been blessed with three children, ages 16, 10, and 7.

I love to read. The last book I read for enjoyment was The Kite Runner. Although some of the parts are difficult to read on an emotional level, it is a very powerful story, and I highly recommend it.

I'm a little unsure about what exactly I am supposed to be doing with this page, but I hope to find out as the course progresses.

I agree about Kite Runner. It is a book I will remember for a very long time. Some books just stay with you. Right now I am reading The Helpwhich is about life in Jackson, Mississippi back in the 60's when the Civil Rights Movement just starting up. There is a lot of tension building. I know some difficult things are going to happen in the story. It is another powerful book.

There are times that I know I just HAVE to read a book even though I know it is going to be difficult. My husband and kids are accustomed to walking in on me with tears streaming down my face as I read. It doesn't faze them anymore. I find it funny that I don't reread books, even really good ones. Usually, I can't remember much of the storyline after a period of time, but I can always remember the way a book made me feel. From that feeling, I can begin to recall the story. That is the power of good writing.
