Hey Peggy,

Our Brainyflix video contest just ended, and I wanted to thank you for helping us get the word out. We got 800 submissions from across the country!

That said, MIT was really happy with the results and will let us run another contest, so we're going for it! But this time, we're gonna have kids create Brainypics flashcards - which are images and sentences paired up with a one of our SAT/ACT words. The contest ends May 22nd, and there'll be iTunes and a cash prize like last time. To boot, we'll double the payout if the kids can hit a certain goal. More details at brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules.

Do you mind passing my message along to students and your colleagues again?

Thanks,
Jack

Jack, I have accepted your request. I will be sharing the information with some teachers who might consider becoming involved. Thanks for the info.

Not sure you saw my colleague request but I had some info on there for you...

Kids will be making videos about SAT/ACT vocab words that are often found on the tests (1 video=1 word). You can go to this link for complete details: http://www.brainyflix.com/main/contest_rules

Oops I didnt answer your two questions! 1. Grade level wise - we'll accept videos from anybody to be honest, but we figure that grades 8-12 would be most interested. 2. For equipment, students just need some sort of video recording device that can upload to a computer and most PCs and Macs come up with basic video editing software. 3. Students will be involved with the making of the video and voting. Video submissions start Jan 1 and voting will start in late March. Whew. Lemme know if you have any other questions!

Hi Platham!

Hope you're enjoying the winter break. I was wondering if you, your educator contacts or students would be interested in participating in a Vocab Video Contest @ MIT university. We'd really like to get more students involved from SC.

You can view contest details at BrainyFlix.com Please let me know. Thanks!
