About Me
6th grade Science and 9th grade Physics teacher and website designer/coordinator at a small public 6-12 school in Queens, NY.

Current Projects

My big project right now, in addition to my teaching-grading-planning duties for my Science classes, is developing my school's website--queensinquiry.com.

I'm developing the site using Drupal, an open-source content management system that has hundreds of customizable modules. I created the most of the architecture of the site using the Groups module so that each course has its own group page. The teacher responsible for each group/course can post blog posts, files, web pages, wikis, assignments (automatically added to a course calendar and students' individual calendars), forums, photo galleries, video...To that basic set-up I added some school-wide features like a news page, general school info, and other student and staff forums,.

I'm constantly playing with the design and adding new things. I love any feedback I can get.

Another project that is in the works is a collaboration with a Professor at CUNY Queens College. It is in the very early stages of development, so I can't divulge any details now, but stay tuned...

Hi Steven,

If your interest in Technology includes online collaboration, I recommend you take a look at Wiziq's virtual classroom and authorstream's power point presentation platform. Both are web based platforms, have a bunch of features and free basic service. Here’s a public class recording conducted by Nellie Deutsch on Technology Integration.
