Technology is an amazing resource for teachers in the classroom.  As a Business Education teacher, I have an increased interest in technology and what it means to my classroom.  I’m always trying to find new and creative uses of technology and how I can incorporate it in to my classroom.  When I was student-teaching, I was introduced to new ways to make the classroom more digital.  We utilized Edmodo to bring the classroom to the Internet, so the students could interact and collaborate online during school or at home.  We were able to communicate with the students through this medium, and it was a fun and creative way to bring the same information to the students in a different way.  I was also able to also use iPads, Apple products such as iMovie, iTunes, etc, and Microsoft Office applications to teach the students how to use everyday technology in the classroom.

What this information means to me is that students are looking to receive their content in unique, up-to-date technologies.  Teachers need to utilize technology, but we also need to realize that incorporating the technology needs to be done in the right manner.  Students need to be taught the necessary skills in order to succeed in a 21st Century world.  Information is always changing, so we need to make sure we are staying current and creating the best classroom in the Digital Age.

I would have to say that I’m a digital native.  I am always staying current with technology and how to effectively use it.  Technology means a lot to me, and it is one of the big reasons why I became a Business Education teacher, so that I could show my students how to use all the tools and resources that are available to them in the real-world.
