How are high schools implementing standards based grading systems? What does this look like in grade reporting at the high school level? These are the questions that I would like to see answered here.

Hi new friends! This is absolutely my favorite topic to discuss. I have been speaking on SBG for 10 years - little movement across the country though! So let me know if I can help in any way.. I am excited for the conversation. I just joined Classroom 2.0.. so don't really know how it works yet! Thanks

Excited to start a conversation next week with the Rockwood School district about moving Science to SBG K - 12. We're getting there!

Steven,

Good ideas there.  I am attaching the references I used while working on my dissertation References.  We've used a lot of these in moving forward through SBG.  We use it in my district from K - 8, hoping to see it spread to the high school.  It has done great things for us in respect to standardized assessments.

My 6-12 school in Queens, NY is moving toward SBG. Several teachers (myself included) have begun experimenting with SBG in Physics, Engineering, English, and Music. We're working this year as a full staff to figure out what that system needs to look like and will be rolling it out next fall.
Some resources I've found helpful:
-Understanding by Design (Wiggins and McTighe)
-Educative Assessment (Wiggins)
-SnapGrades (online grade book that allows SBG, not perfect but some nice features)

Any resources you've used in your work toward SBG?

Any resources, articles you've discovered in putting together SGB systems in hi

Just found this great website with lesson plans, videos, articles and more. Thanks to twitter: http://www.stenhouse.com/html/fiae-videos.htm Enjoy!

It does ask you to register, but it is free. Worth the price for sure!

Chris, would love to to learn more about your transition to standards based grading. The links on the district website have been very helpful. I am creating a power point to present to school board in either Dec or Jan.You mentioned about presenting, are you available to speak about your experience with SBG?
