The idea of Green Schools has advanced so far beyond what we used to think of - recycling, turning off the lights, etc. Now we are looking more at the ideas of sustainability - cultural, social, economic, and resources. This opens up so many opportunities for lessons in the classroom. I am currently participating in a seminar on this subject and I hope to have some ideas from the participants to share later.

My name is Marie Doherty and I am a teacher in Ireland. I teach 10-12 year olds. I am very interested in hearing about the Green projects people are doing at school and maybe even to collaborate on a project.

At the moment, I don't have any outstanding ideas for teaching environmental education, but I am interested in hearing what others have to say and think this is something to which we should all devote a llittle time.
