I've had many teachers within my district ask how to use mobile technology in their rooms.  I decided to write a post sharing one of my favorite ipod apps.  I've included several examples of how to use this at multiple grade levels and content areas.  -- even if you only have your personal ipod/itouch/iphone, you can still get started.  :)

Here's the link... feel free to follow the blog as I update daily.  You can also follow us on Facebook.

I look forward to hearing how you're using ipods in your class.  Have you ever tried SonicPics?

Thanks,

Thanks for sharing you ideas for using iPods in the classroom. Currently, I don't own an iPhone or iPod Touch, so I am not entirely up to speed on all the available apps. This is first time hearing about SonicPics and I really enjoyed you ideas for using this particular app. I am especially interested in using SonicPics as a tool to provide homework help for students, as you demonstrated on your website. As a student, I can recall feeling confident in what we learned in class, but struggling with new concepts when it came time to complete homework. Referring to my notes was helpful, but it would have been easier to hear my teacher explain (in her words) what the notes I had written down actually meant. This would be especially helpful in areas like math or language arts, where students are solving problems or identifying parts of a sentence. My favorite thing about the examples you posted it that it seems relatively easy to take pictures, create a slide show, and add vocal narration. I'm curious to find out what grade levels you think would be able to use SonicPics independently. I know you posted a SonicPics of your first-grader's science project. How much one-on-one help was needed?

Thanks again for sharing! I can't wait to get my hands on a iPod to try it out for myself.
