Formatting my Ning page

I am trying to format a Ning Network for Teachers at our school and want to know if someone can help me eliminate the description from my forum link in my sidebar. The descriptions make the page way too busy but I don't want to hide them under the forum tab. I have attached a picture. Any suggestions??
