This is a great book about a teenager's journey from Central America to the US. I am wondering if anyone else has used this book with their students. I really need some activities that I can use with my students. We are going to conclude the book with the simulation of a congressional hearing regarding the US' new immigration policy. Any ideas, or suggestions would be appreciated.

What about mapping the journey on Google Earth? I don't know the book--is it detailed enough to do that?
That is a good idea. Yes, it is very detailed. gracias
More than 14 universities have already made it freshman read, and hundreds of high schools around the country are using the text in this way as well. Here are the innovative lesson plans from one high school, Santa Monica High

My students are reading Enrique's Journey. I am creating a voicethread based on some questions I got from Santa Monica High I was wondering if anyone else would like to have their students comment on our page. We just finished chapter three. If interested, contact me.
