Our district is small and we have no available funds for technology. Our school had three wireless apple laptop labs and are now down to two and those two suffer from dying batteries.

I need to figure some funding ideas to help out our school (grades 4th-8th). Hate to see all the great teaching gains lost through dying computers and budgets.

Looking for some ideas, grants sources, etc. to keep our school in the 21st century!

Thanks!

Christina

Check e-school magazine and T.H.E. Journal for the latest grant opportunities. Best Buy has a small grant that may be of interest to you. I've written tons of grants over the last 25 years and here's a tip--don't ask for the stuff! Focus on what you want your kids to be able to do, and then mention what you need to do it--Good Luck, N.
Hey Thanks! So are you saying to detail the things I want students to accomplish, set goals, etc., and inorder to do this we need the necessary technology? Our district also does not have $$$$ for curriculum so I use the internet to enrich subject areas- especially science and social studies.
Christina, Yes, that is exactly right. For example: "We want to do a project on the history of our town and put it on the web, students will do oral histories and take pictures of buildings etc, etc,--to do the project we need 2 digital cameras, 1 laptop and so on".
