What do you know about bandwidth as it applies to schools? What types of internet connections are schools using? What should teachers and students know about bandwidth? I'm having a hard time finding solid and easy-to-understand information about this topic online.

Bandwidth is a concept much like public roadways - it just gets you from one point to another. The average users does not often think about the planning behind building infrastructure. The technologies that create bandwidth are always changing and once working are transparent. For wxample - if my ISP replaces several switches and converts their copper lines to fiber - all I will see on my computer is increased performance without know exactly why. I would focus attention on where to go and how to use what you find over understanding what it takes to get you there.
