Social Networking research studies

I am doing a literature review on scholarly research related to learning outcomes in social network contexts.

So far, the quest is rather limited.

Is anyone currently involved in any research project that involves social networking?

I know a few universities have begun looking at the tool in ed applications, but does anyone know of any "real" study on the subject. If not, I guess I'll just have to do one myself... (ha-ha)
