Hi Nancy!
You were the first name listed as a host, so I am contacting you with a few general questions. I am a newbie to this site and have signed up as a member of the Beginner's Group. I would like to watch previous presentations by Sue Waters on wikis, but I can't seem to find the correct links. If you could lead me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks, Nancy! I am asking because one of my professors and I are working on a book chapter about online communities and teacher professional development -- in fact, Classroom2.0 is the community we have looked at, based on some coursework that I did while "lurking"/reading on Classroom2.0, and the work that two Carnegie Mellon University students, April Galyardt and Turadg Aleahmad, did on Classroom2.0 in coordination with Steve Hargadon (they were featured in a few online community discussions late last fall). Anyway - we found that there are "colleagues/friends" and that there is an entity called "groupies," and were wondering about the difference.
Nancy, I love the image that you have posted of the boy in Cameroon from the Newsweek article, and I have enjoyed browsing your "A Very Old Place" (not to mention learning about TweenTribune from your more 'current' blogsite)....Now I have a pretty basic question about Classroom2.0 (since you are a host =) - What's the difference between a "groupie" and a "friend" on Classroom2.0? Like, could I be both your groupie and your friend...? Why would I do one, not the other...?
Thanks in advance !!

I am Neeta Dang, a member of Classroom 2.0. However, I have not been able to participate in programmes like Webinars, etc., as I have failed to log onto 'Eluminate' a site recommended to me. I reside in Kolkata, India and am a college lecturer. I have also written a short peice on my page, if you feel curious.
Thanks for your time and if you could tell me how to benefit more.
Howdy Nancy, I'm building a learning management system and I want to post a survey about the usability about blackboard so I can figure out what teachers like and dislike in a learning management system for when I build my own. I just don't know where I'm allowed to post it on Classroom 2.0. Would you assist me?
I placed a video by embedding it in the video section and it is HUGE..a vimeo video. Can I delete it from the videos and if so how do I do that. I have explored the site but can't seem to find a way.
I am looking for tech-savvy teachers to share techniques at an upcoming conference. It's called Ohio Free-Tech 2010. Do you know of anyone who may be qualified? We are also still accepting registration forms from people who want to attend the FREE conference.
People can pre-register to reserve their space.
Limited to 770 seats per event!

Hi Nancy! I am new to Classroom 2.0. I uploaded a few photos to my page, but I just realized that they are visible to anyone. I went to privacy and changed the settings to Just Colleagues, but they are still visible to anyone on the web. Do you have any idea how to block the photos to only 2.0 users? Thanks!
Hi Nancy, Thanks for the quick reply and the colleague invite. I saw that right away. Where do I control who can send me messages? I can not find where I am restricting it to friends only.
Hi Nancy I rec'd an email on 11/5 saying that Abigail Martin has added me as a colleague and an email on 11/8 saying that Goodness added a comment to my page. However, I do not see any comments, and I can't tell where I look to see if I've been added as a colleague. I'm new at this and looking for some help navigating my way around. Thanks Carolyn
Hi Nancy, Wondering about the collaboration between Classroom 2.0 and PBS to do webinars via elluminate. We do professional development with teachers via elluminate for the Museum of Modern Art - so I am wondering about a possible collaboration...
Thoughts?
Beth
I'm looking to talk to someone about classroom 2.0 who might be able to help us build out our NING/education site www.innerkids.ning.com. Do you have any ideas who I should contact. Thanks.
Nancy, If I have accidentally clicked ignore on a friend request, is there any way to undo?
Thanks,
Pam
