Hi Madeline- I'm in higher ed IT and have a daughter who's a junior at a University of Wisconsin campus. I've been doing this eLearning support thing since 1998, mostly in the higher ed context and very occasionally for K-12. My daughter is part of the "Facebook" generation which started when she was in HS. I get to watch trends and move into new technologies in Higher Ed. One of the big trends is "digital literacy", which includes all forms of digital media: text, images, sounds, video. We are seeing both skills of the students coming into higher ed, like my daughter who is both an avid reader (and also in the Harry Potter generation) and on the computer all the time, as well as faculty wanting to see "digital literacy" as a primary skill for students (and faculty :-).

Hi Madeline. I received the following message...
"Madeline has added you as a colleague on Classroom 2.0...
To accept this colleague request, visit:..."
but did not see any way to "accept". Do those requests only remain active for a day or have you decided to rescind that request :-)
Always curious and somewhat confused -Kev

Hello!
Thanks for inviting me! I teach kindergarten at an Independent school in Tampa, Florida. I just noticed that you are in Chicago. I guess I can't complain about my chilly weather this morning. We broke 40 for the first time. I look forward to sharing with everyone.

Madeline, Your "About Me" statement is worthy of stealing! Let me alter a word or two and use it for my "About Me" on one of the other education development sites, OK? I promise to use my picture though! In all sincerity, thanks for the connection. Let's pick each others brains to see what really matters. Shall we do that in Beijing, Chicago, somewhere in between or the boring, impersonal way- online?
